Hello, my name is Allana Fabrikant-Kanevsky and I am your Perfect Hair Doctor. I have been in the salon industry since I was 17 years old… ok so let’s not do the math on my age… but it has been almost 16 years. I started doing hair as a hobby and it became my life, my passion and my career.
Working in some of the most prestigious salons in Boston and New York City gave me the privilege and opportunity to learn from the best European and American masters in the industry. I am a Goldwell and Wella certified colorist, a master stylist and a certified extensions specialist. Over the last 10 years I have worked with several different color lines, methods of extensions as well as different brands of hair, styling tools and hair care products. I have been certified by several color lines, extensions companies, and I am skilled in many different styling, coloring, and cutting and hair extension techniques.
My Experience With Hair
I have been a part of amazing salons like Kenneth Wildes Hair Salon in Newton, MA, Salon Fontana at the Ritz in Boston, MA, Paul Labrecque Salon and Spa in New York, NY, G2O Salon and Spa on Newbury Street in Boston, MA, and Emerge Salon and Spa on Newbury Street in Boston, MA. I was also the owner of Salon Trilogy in Newton Highlands and loved every minute of it. I have chosen to go back to being a full time stylist so I can focus all my time on my clients and do what I do best, HAIR, as the owner of Extology Salon on Commercial Street in Boston, MA.
I feel to be able to create gorgeous hair and the best style for someone requires being able to really understand the individual, their life, personal style, their hair and their hair needs. To create the most natural perfect hair for someone takes a lot of time and patience but it’s all well worth it when you see the results. Check out some examples of my work with hair.
What Hair Means To Me
My fascination with making hair feel better, look fuller and longer turned into a healthy challenge for myself. I went on a learning journey working with glued in tracks, sown in tracks, braided extensions, braids with rubber glue, clip ins, falls, wigs and half wigs, locks, loops, glue guns, seamless, tape and strand by strand fusion. Although I feel that I am a well-rounded stylist, with my own personal touch to my style, I will never stop learning and seeking new and better ways to do things, utilize products and create modern and suitable styles that fit each individual in their unique way.
Although hair extensions have fascinated me and have been the highlight of my passion for hair I have the same passion for creating the perfect look with color and cut.
After years of learning and experimenting on myself and willing participants I have found a few favorite methods and brands to create the perfect look. Depending on the desired final result I will select the method that works best for each individual. See the comparison charts.
There are many web sites out there that will tell you about hair extensions, guides, methods and brands. I have found that none of these sites have been created by an extensions specialist or even a hair stylist. They have been created by writers who did their research. Many of them give great advice on the road to getting extensions, but one can only know the real “the good and the bad” by working hands on with each brand. I have worked with many brands and methods and can give you my personal and professional thoughts on what is out there before you spend your money on trying them out on your own. If you have any specific questions for me please contact me by filling out the form or email me at allana AT extologist.com.
You should always do your research and consult with a professional before deciding to get hair extensions. Not everyone that wants hair extensions is the right candidate for them.
